This photo was taken in Disneyland on July 1955. It was said that it was the day Mickey and Minnie Mouse mascots were first introduced to the public. But they were far from adorable.

Allegedly, those gashes and rips in their faces were supposed to be “vents” which allowed the “actors inside” to breathe.

Whatever. They still looked scary as hell. Those children appeared to be enjoying though. I guess people were brave back then.
